Launched in 2019, we worked closely with founder Luke Wheadon to develop the brand identity for the Channel Islands Liquor Co as well as the pack design for their first product - Indica Rum.

During our research into the Islands we discovered the 1981 Jersey pound coin, released to celebrate the bicentenary of the battle of Jersey. The unique shape of this coin became the basis for the Channel Islands Liquor Co. logo and a range of assets that feature on the brands products.

Our design for the Indica Rum bottle and labels takes inspiration from the coastal waters and rugged landscape of the Channel Islands. Sprayed in a deep ocean blue and then screen printed with the brand logo, bespoke topographic pattern and the product details (on the back), the striking bottle is offset with clean white labels that take inspiration from maritime typography. The luxury heavy-weight labels are blind embossed with the same topographic pattern adding depth and tactility to the pack.

The Indica Rum bottle design won World’s Best Design, Best New Launch, Design Gold, New Launch Gold and Best Label Design at the 2020 World Rum Awards.
