Walsall by Numbers

Client: Walsall Council

Category: Public Art / Installation

Walsall by Numbers is a project that celebrates a town with positive facts and figures. We collaborated with urban design outfit Urbed and Walsall Council to produce a series of town centre interventions that via public consultation included canal towpath graphics, repainted car parks and hand painted wall murals conveying positive facts and figures about the town.

Community

As part of our work in Walsall we liaised with the community and asked them what they thought at every turn, sometimes from a makeshift studio in the form of a double decker bus. Although we would have much preferred to see our research and designs water jet cut into stone and preserved for longer, the designs shown below were hand painted as a series of wall murals in and around the town centre.
