Mamma Roma are a restaurant bringing traditional Roman street food to the modern world.

To help the brand excel in Belgium's competitive restaurant scene, we created an authentic brand identity that combines historic Italian symbols with contemporary design aesthetics. The logo is inspired by the Capitoline Wolf, a symbol that represents the ancient city of Rome and referencing its heritage, history and foundation story.

Supporting brand elements are inspired by Italian visual culture, with a colour scheme and typographic palette building on themes present in hand-painted street signage, and travel posters of the 1900s.

With a number of new restaurants opening in conjunction with the brand launch we developed a series of custom posters that can be used to add a touch of Italian culture to interior feature walls.
