We worked with the team at Diageo and BrandArc to create an ultra-limited edition packcept for a 34-year-old bourbon whiskey from I.W. Harper, one of the longest-aged bourbons ever bottled.

Selected from four legacy barrels originally laid down in 1989 the project was launched in collaboration with award-winning actor, director and philanthropist Colman Domingo.

Inspired by the theme of 'Black Dandyism', our design approach paid homage to the elegance, artistry, and expressive style of the movement and included a set of custom labels, a wearable origami ruff and a bespoke graphic silk scarf.

Crafting Excellence

Our approach to packaging for the project was built on a geometric pattern inspired by the intricate details of gentlemen's decorative pocket squares.

Printed by Blush Publishing on a vintage Heidelberg letterpress machine and finished with prismatic foils, the pack also features an origami-style folded paper ruff handcrafted by Papersmyths. This wearable piece sits around the bottleneck, while the entire pack is wrapped in a silk scarf created by Brooklyn entrepreneur Michelle Cadore — fashion, heritage, and artistry in one distinctive presentation.

Building on Brand Heritage

One of the design challenges was creating a premium, custom label set that worked with the established I.W. Harper framework - we balanced a large age statement with supporting key information around the label and scarf edges with the distinctive geometric pattern tying the design to the fashion focused art direction.
